Many companies began to improve in the supply management and distribut ion of goods and services, something that led to their growth and development, with expansions to other regions and countries. Globalization played a big role in economic integration, something that led to the economic growth and development in these countries. Technology and Jobs - Essay ExampleIn the article Roberts argues that Obama is mistaken to say that the loss of assembly lines is partly to be fiendish on technology. With the era of world-wideization, outsourcing has been a necessary tool for several companies including American corporations. This is a major factor which contributed to the rise in unemployment in the United States. This, more than technology may be blamed for such economic woes. If a country stifles technological advancement because of the fear that it may result in job losses, then it just might come true. But it is true to the extent that it losses jobs to other countries only because it has refused technological change. The trend now is to go global and a country cannot achieve it without the latest technologies. In the case of Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy, they were not able to cope with technological innovations, which resulted in a slow harvest-feast in the economy. This then resulted to huge debts, lo w investments and therefore few jobs were created. There was no confidence in the government. Like Roberts, one agrees that technology does not impede the growth of jobs rather, technology creates jobs and makes the economy more

Genetic Modification a Hybrid desoxyribonucleic acid - Essay ExampleIn case of genetic modification, a hybrid desoxyribonucleic acid is produced by combining DNA from different organisms. These organisms could be far apart in nature like producing an organism by combining DNA of dog and cat. In case of non-genetically modified organism natural crossing is done between two different breeds of the same species to produce the combination of the break-dance of the two. This is rather a natural evolutionary process, while the genetic engineering is a completely artificial synthesis of DNA in a analyze tube.2. This is possible simply this will require the techniques of genetic engineering. To differentiate critically, one requires identifying genes of both the plants. In case of genetically modified plants there will be genes of genes of some other type of plants, while in case of plants modified by molecular genetics, all the genes will be from the same plant.3. Some germane(predica te) examples are - nutrient poisoning, dysentery, nausea or vomiting, obesity, lack of micronutrients, excessive intake of different constituents like iron, allergy, retarded growth etc. All of this can be caused by genetically modified food. But, here I must add a word of caution, all of these can be caused by established food as well. The problem is not with the conventional or genetically modified food but is with unsafe food. The only thing that goes in favor of conventional food here is that these are tested and tried since time immemorable, while genetically modified foods are recent phenomena and therefore, some lack of trust is but natural.4. To answer this we need to go to the basics. For any organism its characteristic is coded in its DNA be its nutritional composition, shelf life, riposte, disease resistance. In case the DNA is suitably modified, these characteristics can be modified. For example, extract a gene resp, possibly for higher yield from a plant and put this into a low yield crop.

Individual Design Report - Assignment ExamplePumping lively urine supply out causes the increase in the degree of salt water supply intrusion, hence a sustainable and practical method of fresh water extraction mechanism must prevent the furtherance of such phenomenon. This design is a practical application of the mechanisms design by Dr. Bhattacharya and Dr. Basack where, a practical design for groundwater extraction was give rised specifically for arid regions using qanats that aims to, aside from extracting fresh water from aquifers, would create least, if not negligible, damage to the natural underground water system. Solution Both proponents of the theory based their mathematical equation to the equilibrium between saline water and that of the fresh water in the aquifers, where an port wine can be calculated using the Ghyben-Herzberg relationship with the assumption of (1) homogenousity (2) separation by a sharp interface and (3) absence of mixing zone. Aside from using th e equation and the assumption above, it is important to consider the theory of up-coning where the interface (where salt water and fresh water meets) lowers collectible to the extraction of fresh water (which is less dense than salt water). As the pressure above is considerably reduced, the shape of the rise of the saline water is cone-shaped and once the conical mound has been reached, the saline water mixes with the fresh. Given this scenario, it is vital that we determine the height of the cone created and from there, we can establish the amount of water to be extracted at a certain amount of time before fresh water is replenished in order to a avoid salt water intrusion. Recommendations (development and testing) determination of the number of qanats to be used and the stratification of the bed rock present and the soil decomposition should be a preliminary resort before the murder of the project. List of Contents Introduction Background Detail The water crisis is a looming p eril that not only the third world country will fuck off to face, but is becoming a worldwide phenomenon at that. Water crises such as shortages and the need of access to potable water resource suggest lack of governance and an overall mismanagement of use. But this is just the tip of the iceberg, the huge bulk of those affected by the water crises are the residents of poor countries who are gulled by the total lack of accessible water as well as the presence of water-borne disease. These are the places that suffer shortages due to the topography and the natural features of the place where it can intimately be infiltrated with wastes. Even if the water crisis is the symptom of another problem, it should be given top priority. A proposal for immediate resolution is the development of sustainable water extraction facilities, especially in aquifers proximate to salt water sources such as the sea. Why the design was undertaken The main objectives for the development of a reliable wat er extraction system aside from effectively drawing out water from an underground source is the removal of the contaminants and prevention of salt water intrusion deeper into the fresh water aquifer. There are also other important aspects such as remedial operations. Under a remedial system, it is to be kept in mind that the levels of contaminants present in an aquifer should be reduced otherwise removed. Based on the different objectives of

Draw out Your Future - Essay ExampleRobbin and Judge states that companies that make themselves lean can be more agile, efficient, and productive-but only if they make cuts carefully and help employees through the process (479). It means that an organization should consider internal reinforcements rather than external reinforcements because it is correlated with Clawsons affirmation on why people behave. Similarly, Clawson believes that the genetic endowment, the unfulfilled emotional holes and the human memes form ones personalities. As a result, Clawson comes up with the rational-emotive cast, the reward and punishment model and the self-concept model as reinforcement mechanism designed for organizational structure.Clawson finds one of internal reinforcements accordant with the rational-emotive model. This model claims that we could use events, perceptions and observations, set of values, assumptions, belief and expectation (VABEs) to influence oneselfs avouch conclusion, lead t o their emotions and end up with their projected behaviors. For example, an observed behavior results from an absorption of opinion leaders reaction to certain situation and the object act like a leaders point of view (Clawson). Moreover, affective events theory suggests work events trigger positive or negative emotional reactions, to which employees personalities and moods predispose them to respond with greater or lesser intensity (Robbins and Judge, 135). It drives to analysis that we could correct organizational behavior that a leader should show to complete task to employees.

Should firms price discriminate, why or why not Essay
Should firms price discriminate, why or why not - Essay ExampleSuch concerns will be depicted in this paper and all(prenominal) will be discussed in detail. Price Discrimination Evolution is not only associated to management practices of business organisations, but also to what these organisations are operating for--those are stakeholders. Consumers, being a predominant external customer of companies, have also evolved in terms of their preferences. They collate divers(prenominal) prices of similar products offered in different foodstuff environments and decide whether or not to buy such a good or service (Turow, 2005, p.125). For instance, consumers can now demand certain attributes of products that these companies produce resulting the food market to become dynamic and diversified (Poynor Lamberton & Diehl, 2013, p.394). With such a smart choice, companies also conduct an investigation on their target market and decide whether such a segment is or not a profitable market (Turo w, 2005, p.125). ... From this point, companies can charge a maximum price to the market segment with a more(prenominal) price inelastic demand and a minimum price for the market segment with a more elastic demand. With this kind of technique, companies can achieve a higher level of producer surplus from the add-on in their total taxation and profits. To increase the profit, the company should exert effort to balance marginal revenue and marginal cost in each group of market (Stigler, 1987, cited in Elegido, 2011, p.635). Barriers to Prevent Consumers Switching. Consumer switching is significant in the theory of consumer preferences wherein the combined effect of their work out constraint and choices can affect the entire decision making process of customers, leading them to switch from one supplier to another (Elegido, 2011, p.637). For price discrimination to work, companies must(prenominal) prevent consumer switching--a method in which lower-priced products that are sold to c ustomers can be resold by the latter to those customers who are willing to break for its premium price. It must be noted that companies must not use price discrimination if they cannot eliminate the threat of consumer switching as they cannot compete for both types of consumers high and low willingness to pay (Corrocher & Zirulia, 2010, p.150). Paradigms of Price Discrimination First-Degree or Perfect. First-degree or perfect price discrimination is a pricing tactic whereby companies charge each customer a different price for similar products purchased with no cost relation. Three results are prevalent when it comes to using this tactic an increase of profits, a decrease in the level of consumer surplus, and an increase in the level of producer surplus (Mankiw, 2012, p.316).

The society seems to incline on views and opinion of a few designers and artist to buy their products. For instance, lovers of a specific artist would be willing to dress the way the artist does no matter the cost that it takes. The aim of this paper is to discuss the notion consumers ar passive victims manipulated into buying commodities they cannot resist. Modernity contributes a lot in shaping the type of products that people buy. Social integration and mimicking of cultural practices by other communities has influenced the regularity fashion designers use to develop their products (Arpan & Peterson, 200878). Cultural practices are unique and diversified according to the number of tribes that exist in the society. Some cultures seem to dominate the market with their products because the majority of people in the society feel that they should associate with the cultural practices of a particular community. Various Hazards in the Various Industries Assignment
Various Hazards in the Various Industries - Assignment ExampleIt is important to highlight that this base or assignment delves into the discussion of the various hazards to the various industries. It is again worth noting that the paper presents what does not happen in real life but argon rather hypothetical. In the paper, the following sectors of economic development have been selected for the presentation. The tress perseverance, manufacturing, carry-overation, and the mining industries were the chosen industries in question. The hazards range from environmental to human (Steve, 2004). In the construction industry, there are various hazards that the people who work there could possibly attain victims of. A good example is a case where the construction materials fall on the worker probably because there was an earthquake, collision from a machine or any other form of vibrating machine. These can cause approximately endangerment to the people and any other form of life in the surrounding (Steve, 2004). In the manufacturing industry, the hazards that can possibly be associated with the industry are the cases where the manufacturers at some point can decide to introduce a harmful substance into the products that they manufacture. These could be quite hazardous to the life of the consumers of the products affected by these kinds of acts (Steve, 2004). Another industry that can as well affected by the hazards is the transport industry. Under this, the hazards can arise when there are mechanical breakdowns in the various media of transport and even the poor modes of transportation in the areas. Poor weather conditions can in like manner be potential causes of the hazards that are associated with the industry in hand (Steve, 2004). It is also important to note that the mining industry is the most affected. The miners underground can suffocate while they are underneath due to the insufficient air ply as well as the high temperatures. The land above them simil arly is quite dangerous to their lives as it can be triggered due to the isostatic adjustments and the magma movement in the mantle that is a result of the conventional current in the mantle too (Steve, 2004).

Social Psychology Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Social Psychology - Essay ExampleHowever, it is important to identify that at its root, the idea of constructing the self-importance of the individual has roots in many other domains of knowledge (Danziger, 1997). As stated previously, the first thoughts of the idea of the self originated from that of philosophy and religion. The self was ofttimes described as the soul or consciousness of the individual. It was supposed to be something that could be observed. Locke was one of the first to develop this issue due to the utmost rates of development and increase in society. He had to make a distinguishing factor between the out-of-door self and the self-consciousness. As time progressed, ideas of the self began to reassign in develop. Cooley addressed this as a mirror principle in that the reaction to others is based on a mirror principle, which involves both internal and external judgment (Cooley, 1902). One of the key events in the development of the self in social psychology was th rough the humanist, Carol Rogers. He postulated that the self constituted twain components the real and perfection selves. The real self was the true essence of who the individual is and the ideal self is what the person projects onto the world as a desire to be. The disunity in the real and ideal self is what causes the neuroticism and anxiety in the individual. The neuroticism can only go away once the real self and ideal self become integrated with one another. Being an American psychologist, he took the forefront in the development in this field of psychology, but moved the emphasis from awareness of self to the emotions and motivations, which play a part in the development of the self, both internally and externally. This represents the constructivist philosophy behind the social aspects in the influence in the psychology of the self. Another component of the self to observe is based on phenomenology, which goes into how does a person experience and interpret the external wo rld. There are twain aspects, which bring these together being-in-the-world and lifeworld. These aspects argue that rather a considering the individual as a separate from the environment, it addresses it as a system of two identities in which the experiences taken from the environment shape the individual, which is a phenomenological effect. Edmund Husserl gave three criteria, which are used in describing the phenomenology of the self in society. The first step is to suspend expectations of the experience. The second step is to hang on with the experiences, versus deductive reasoning and hypothesis testing. Lastly, the third step is in regards to treating everything equally. Again, as with Carol Rogers and humanism, the existential psychologists took up the task of providing constructs for phenomenology. The main characteristics where that each person is droll in that we all process situations differently, being actively engaged in the experience and having the freedom to choose as well as being in the present moment. Psychoanalytic psychology, focused heavily on the development of the self. Psychiatrist Sigmund Freud pioneered in this field. He focused highly on the construction of the self he was primarily focused on the consciousness. He often described the consciousness in reference to an iceberg. The largest portion of our self, the unconscious, is located in the recesses of our mind and we are often unaware of it, even

Dont Expect Job Data Alone to Persuade Fed on Rates Article
Dont Expect Job Data Alone to Persuade Fed on Rates - Article ExampleThe short-term unemployment rate or the proportion of people remained jobless for 15 weeks has declined to 3.1 percent however, this compute is still higher than the figure of the prerecession period. One much important consideration is fags share of income in the nonfinancial corporate sector, which is measured by the Bureau of Labor Statistics each quarter. For comparison, it should be historied that the labors share of income has remained between 61 and 66 percent right from 1950 through the early 2000s that is currently ruling at 57.1 percent much below 60 percent registered in 2005. Thus, Yellen is more concerned with the people who have fallen behind. Lower interest rate helps boost demand because consumers tend to spend more rather than saving or holding it. Moreover, the cost of borrowing is low helping businesses to invest and create employment lower mortgage helps spur step-up in construction because the interest burden on home buyers is minimal. In short, lower interest rate helps increase aggregate demand within the economic system that in turn, boosts business activities reducing prevailing unemployment rates and that is what the Fed is attempting to do. In view of this, it is clear that until the job market improves on all parameters unemployment rates and the labors share of income, there is a little scope of the interest rates getting revised upwards by the Fed. The Fed would like to watch the job market data for several quarters to come before making any upward revision of interest rates.

History of Pyramids Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words
History of Pyramids - Term Paper ExampleThese structures very prominently gleam wealth and status of the Kings of that time. Man fears time but the time fears pyramids. Arab saying. The history of pyramids stretches 4000 years back. Around 3000 B.C, an era began which is normally called the dynastic era. An era in which the superlative kings ruled different parts of the world. Especially the history of Egypt tells that Kings were praised like they be being appointed by God. People wanted to keep the kings dead body in some special safe and conditions because it was their belief that there king has not completely died and they have to keep it intact. Believed to be gods, the lofty family lived amid colossal palaces and temples built to honor them and their deified ancestors (Hawaas). The word Mummy came from this practice of the people of that time. These structures were to provide a safe and strong shelter for the dead bodies of their kings. However this finis of building pyrami ds was definitely started by their kings. Pyramids are not the part of Egyptian civilization only. There are others also like Mesopotamian and Mayan. As described earlier, pyramids are so old that from the heights of these pyramids, forty centuries look down on us. (Bonaparte). ... e mounds. More likely, Egyptian pyramids were modeled on a sacred, pointed rock and roll called the benben. The benben symbolized the rays of the sun ancient texts claimed that pharaohs reached the heavens via sunbeams. (National Geographic) For a long period, archeologists and historians presented their theories regarding pyramids that how and why are these structures built? This is a question that kept everyone in a state of fearsome confusion for a very long period of time. The information related to such confusing questions was provided by the pyramids itself. The inside of these pyramids is so well designed and managed by the ancient people that it provided loads of information and history of these structures. The concept or the culture of find writing was introduced by Egyptians. They were really good at that and this conceive of communication is very affective and understandable. The interior of Egyptian pyramids contains such picture writings on the walls describing the happenings and other touching of those old Kingdoms. In such picture writings that were found, some were showing the construction of these pyramids. These embedded pictures were of labors and mechanism technique they used to build these structures. These were so clear that people got the idea and the mystery of movement of creating the pyramids didnt remain a mystery anymore. One of such writing which was commonly found on the inside walls of most of the pyramids was HRAM (haram). This name (haram) signifies the holy place, the edifice consecrated in a particular manner, it may be some divinity, or some religious usage (Silvestre De Sacy). From these wall prints, it was also concluded that the process o f making these pyramids was not easy. In fact these projects were running on

Manners of Development of Conceptual Frameworks Research Paper
Manners of Development of Conceptual Frameworks - Research Paper pillowcaseValuation concept, as adopted by both IASB and FASB under circumstances when historical apprises being replaced with fair market values, has been examined to find out the effect of such valuations. The concept of frugal income has gained importance under prevalent economic instability around the world. Accordingly, an effort has been made to review the capabilities of standards to measure the financial income, work out using available standards, in terms of economic income. IFRS 1 has been amended to make comprehensive income more presentable and useful to users of financial statements. These amendments have been critically examined in order to evaluate their achievements. IASB has adopted asset- liability theory, similar to the approach adopted by FASB in its framework, to develop the conceptual frame. This implies that the objectives of standards would only be to meet the needs of users of financial st atements. Standards are not set to measure the management performance, though such measurement is incidental on the application of standards. This is rather a lopsided approach and not a comprehensive framework helping to set the standards. Fair value application is a welcome approach and in situations where fair values are not available or measureable, the proposal to use present value is a refreshing modern idea. Suddenly economic income concept has taken a central stage in world economies. The abilities in IASB and FASB standards to evaluate financial income in terms of economic income, particularly when presenting set up of non- owners equity on the comprehensive income, reveals the flexible approach adopted in framing the standards. Though bringing amendments in the presentation of financial statements is an effort in the right direction and with a purpose, but the very first effort to amend IFRS 1 has proved to be infertile. Amendments have not brought any value additions to the presentation of financial statements.
